This week it’s National Afternoon Tea Week (8–14 August 2022).

For inspiration, look no further. We have some fantastic menu ideas – and even better, they’re vegan – only a few simple tweaks are needed to make sure your bakes are suitable for all.

Here’s a tasty sample menu we served at Laurel Court, an MHA care home, when we visited and hosted a vegan afternoon tea party:

Menu for the day

Finger sandwiches – cucumber, curried chickpea, and vegan cheese and pickle

Crustless stuffing quiche

Chocolate tray bake

Victoria sponge cake

Scones with vegan cream and jam

  • There's no need to stick to dull sandwich fillings – we have plenty of inspiration here.
  • For a tasty, classic addition to your afternoon tea, these tasty pastries make a good treat.
  • For an easy and protein-packed cream alternative try our cashew nut cream recipe.
  • For more inspiration, check out our Vegan Baking Guide. It's packed with tasty bakes and tips to veganise your menu.

We hope you’ve found some inspiration above. If you’re interested in us hosting an event at your care home get in touch: training@vegetarianforlife.uk
